Cafe Ethereal

Decided to kill time here as I wait for the ferry to arrive. It’s cozy, clean, and spacious. It’s also a good soot if you’re really hungry, as they serve rice meals. From Surigao Port, you can walk for about 7 minutes to get to this cafe.

A good cafe with a nice ambience. I liked the Cafe Latte. The food is okay but not great. Portions could be a bit bigger. Definitely a gem in Surigao.

Overall, the experience was okay. The staff member who served us didn’t smile, even though we were polite to her. We understand it was the afternoon and she may have been tired, but it still affected the experience a bit. That said, the place itself was good—we’ve actually been there twice already.

Vegan review We ordered the vegan sourdough with mushrooms and salad - super delicious! Would put the mushrooms on the bread with humus tough if possible (info for the chef hehe), the pumpkin soup was super delicious and also the humus dip plate! We ordered fries with ketchup too, which is not on the menu (only Parmesan fried platter) but they handeled it friendly. The banana shake with non dairy milk came with granola on top, where we don’t know if it was really vegan. Seems like a meat/ fish restaurant trying, but we did not 100% trust them, as the waiter seemed not to really understand the concept of vegan food and the menu has ‚vegan‘ and ‚vegan friendly‘ where we didn’t know what the difference was. We just hope the granola was vegan and the chef knows what they are doing. Also the lemonade we got had ingredients inside that we couldn’t really guess. Very fancy, so be aware and ask for vegan drinks too when you order and hope the waiter understands. We would come back, it’s just 5 minutes from the port and we stayed for our layover :) and it was super delicious. They just need to make it more clear on their menu and with their staff

This is the best place to start your day in Surigao city! been here every breakfast in our whole stay in Surigao. I recommend the Spanish Latte for coffee, that’s the fav of my bf Everything we ordered was really good!! 10/10!!! Gonna miss the food in this café

Everything was perfect here! We came here both times we were in Surigao coming to and from Siargao, so close to the port you’d be silly to miss it!! Staff were beyond friendly, helpful, and professional. The food and drinks were served promptly, so aesthetic looking and from a great menu selection. The interior is gorgeous and music was calming. 100% recommend!! Great atmosphere and wonderful overall

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After a long boat tour to Hikdop Island, we stopped by Cafe Ethereal and it was the perfect choice! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing. If you’re visiting the Philippines and craving some delicious western food in a relaxed atmosphere, this place is a must. Highly recommend!

Delicious food, large servings, and very close to the Port of Surigao City. It's a cozy place. PS: They're using rice straws, which are eco-friendly.
